I’m Ba-aack!

I’m back from a week in England and next week I will be back on Vedge Your Best Podcast in another solo episode, but this week we have my third dream guest in three weeks…

Ellen Kanner is the author of Feeding the Hungry Ghost: Life, Faith and What to Eat for Dinner.

What a luminous book – you will feel like Ellen is the wise witty self-deprecating best friend you always dreamed of having.

In her book, Ellen reminds us about the French Paradox – you know, the way the French seem to be able to eat “lavish, leisurely, artery-clogging meals while remaining svelte and chic with cholesterol levels that don’t make their doctors hurl statins at them.” Well the American Paradox is that we are spending billions on diet books while consuming millions of snack cakes and junk food. “We watch food shows and follow celebrity chefs but we don’t cook.”

Not everyone has a human Mother to fete or call or dote on this Mother’s Day, but may we ALL remember Mother Earth this weekend and this year. She needs us to check in on her like never before.  How we eat each and every meal is one of the most impactful ways we can show our common Mother some love and respect.
