This episode of the Vedge Your Best podcast is titled “You Already Know Enough to Go Vegan,” and it’s about exactly that. Believe it or not, you already possess sufficient knowledge to start adopting a vegan lifestyle. Right now.
I was recently re-reading Jonathan Safran Foer’s book, We Are the Weather: Saving the Planet Begins at Breakfast, and feeling overwhelmed by the need to remember all the facts and figures related to animal agriculture’s impact on the planet. I’m not alone in this behavior; humans in general tend to focus on what we don’t know or haven’t mastered yet, rather than acting on the knowledge we already have. This mindset often hinders progress and change.
While learning and seeking new information is valuable, it can become a distraction from taking action based on what we already understand. Rather than getting caught up in the pursuit of more knowledge or perfect understanding, try trusting in your ability to make informed choices and focus on the steps you can take right now toward a vegan lifestyle.
